What is the reason for launching a new website?#

Nova.storage was forked from Pixeldrain to fix some problems with the original site. The reasons are explained here:

Payments#

Pixeldrain originally grew out of an image-sharing service. For this reason it allows anyone to upload anything. This created a special kind of economy which I didn’t foresee when I started developing the service. Uploaders upload their files for free, and downloaders pay to download the content which is available.

Reporting abuse

There are two ways to report abusive content on pixeldrain: Through the report button on the download page, and through e-mail. For serious and urgent cases you should always use e-mail. The report button is meant for tip-offs, e-mail is for reporting serious TOS violations.

E-Mail reporting#

To report files though e-mail you need to send a message to abuse@nova.storage. The message must contain some specific content to be accepted:

Pricing#

Every time you create or remove a file your account’s storage usage will be updated. This can take some time. If your account’s storage is full you will no longer be able to upload anything to the filesystem.

The Pro subscription has a storage limit of 2 TB. It doesn’t show on the profile page because it’s calculated differently from the other plans, but it is there.

For Prepaid plans the storage is charged at €4 per TB per month. You can view your usage in the transaction log.

Police data request procedure

In the case of official police investigations, pixeldrain can share user details when requested. Please send all police data requests to police@nova.storage. This e-mail address is only for police forces requesting user data. Any other type of message sent to this e-mail address will be ignored.
